Review Rowdy -TweetPlot = The movie is a reprised and grand version of 1997 blockbuster movie JUDWAA. The plot and many of the scenes and songs are exactly copied from the original flick. Here, Varun Dhawan enacts the characters of Prem & Raja who are […]

Review Rowdy -TweetPlot = The movie is based on the novel The Da Vinci Code written by author Dan Brown. In this novel, Brown has symbolized and presented concrete evidences which claims that Jesus Christ had intimate relations with one of his disciples named Mary […]
Plot = Sanjay Dutt is living happily with his only daughter Aditi Rao Hydari and has a handicraft shoe business in Agra for a living. Their life gets tobsy – turvy when Aditi is gangraped just before her wedding night by a local goon Sharad Kelkar. Then the movie is based on how Sanjay bring the goons to justice.
Opinion = We have seen the same plot in Maatr and Mom this year itself. The only difference is that here, instead of a mother, a father is out for seeking revenge. The movie is gruesome and violent in its execution and is a one – time watch. There are many scenes in the movie which are forced and over – dramatic. The first half will test your patience and the best part of the movie is last 45 minutes proceedings. The court room scenes are hilarious to say the least.
Performances = It is a comeback movie for Sanjay Dutt and he is in top form. He has played the role of a helpless father perfect to the T. The director has given him a lot of room and he has shined with his performance. Actress Aditi Rao Hyadari is just average and talented actors like Sharad Kelkar and Shekhar Suman are completely wasted.
Direction & Other Technical Aspects = Director Omung Kumar has given us decent movies like Mary Kom & Sarbjit, but somewhere he is not able to make a novel movie. In Sarbjit also, the acting of Aishwariya Rai was over the top and in Bhoomi, in many scenes, the dialogue – baazi of Sharad and Aditi seems other worldly. I mean which goon will warn you by mentioning the statistics of rape in India. The music of the movie is as average as the item number of Sunny Leone in the film.

Plot = The movie is based on a real life incident where Mr. V.K. Jain, Senior Superintendent of Adarsh Karagar Jail, based on the outskirts of Lucknow, wanted a music band to be formed so that the inmates of the jail could participate in the annual inter – prison talent showcase. In the movie, the superintendent of Lucknow Central Jail, played by actor Ronit Roy, makes an in – house band following the instructions of his superiors. In the jail one of the prisoner is Farhan Akhtar, who is serving life imprisonment on charge of a murder of an IAS Officer. The movie showcases how Farhan gets trapped in the ambit of fake allegations in detail. In the jail, with the help of a social worker, played by Actress Diana Penty, Farhan constitutes a band with the joint effort of Gippy Grewal, Deepak Dobriyal, Inaamulhaq and Rajesh Sharma. With the instructions of minister Ravi Kissan, the competition is scheduled for 15th August. While preparing for the event, the band members also form a jail-break strategy.
Opinion = The team had a very noble plot at their disposal, but they could just make an average bollywood movie. In a couple of scenes I felt that we are trying to remake The Shawshank Redemption but then, I realized that bollywood directors will always prefer to make a typical masala film over a thought – provoking cinema. And I was absolutely right. As far as its treatment is concerned, the movie has nothing new to offer. The narrative is overly dramatic and situations seem repetitive and unreal. If you are planning to watch a movie this weekend, I would suggest you to choose Simran over this. If you don’t watch this film, you don’t lose anything.
Performances = Farhan Akhtar had given a very disappointing performance in DADDY last week. Here, he has given a decent performance, but nothing which we can boast about. I am not in the mood to comment anything on the acting prowess of the supporting star cast, because the script itself is extremely weak and tardy. Actress Diana Penty has a very good screen presence and here, she has got a very meaty and lengthy role (compared to her previous projects), but the writers could not sketch out her character with depth. Actor Ronit Roy and Actor Deepak Dobriyal have repeated their previous performances and their talent is completely wasted in this film.
Direction & Other Technical Aspects = I am not happy with Director Ranjit Tiwari as he has put a noble idea into garbage. If this plot would have been given to some A List Director, the scenario would have been different. The music and the fight sequences of the film are good. The reprised version of Kaawa Kaawa is already a chartbuster.

Plot = The movie is based on 3 men of a village whose life goes tobsy –turvy when the state government officials publish their photos as a testimony for promoting vasectomy in the state of Haryana, for inducing the villagers for controlling population. The 3 protagonists are Shreyas Talpade (a local goon), Sunny Deol (a retired army officer) and Bobby Deol (a school teacher). All these people carry an attitude and nature suiting their respective professions. The movie is then based on how they protest against the state government for winning their honor back.
Opinion = I had close to no expectation from this movie, but it has surprised me positively. The movie is a political satire and keeps a constant smile on your face. There are many LOL moments placed strategically in the film. However, I would suggest you to patronize this movie, keeping your logics aside. If the plot had been logical, then the protagonists would have easily undergone a medical examination for proving their potency to their family and the society at large. But, it is a feel good movie, made only for the purpose of entertainment and hence, we can ignore this lacuna in the script.
Performances = Shreyas Talpade has given the finest performance of his career. Sunny Deol is in his top form and has given an outstanding performance. However, Bobby Deol is a complete misfit for the character, but still he manages to bring a smile on your face in some scenes. Since, it is a situational comedy, the scope of performance of the supporting cast gets restricted.
Direction & Other Technical Aspects = It is a directorial debut of Actor Shreyas Talpade and he is a talent to watch out for. He needs little training for improving his finesse as a director. Mr. Swastik Karnatki is the assistant director of this movie and a close friend of mine. I would be perceived as biased if I comment anything on his skills. The music of the movie is average. The dialogues are witty and enhance the impact of the situation.
