Plot = Rumi (Tapsee Pannu) and DJ Vicky (Vicky Kaushal) reside in the same locality and are madly in love with each other. Their family members don’t approve of their relationship and Rumi gets married to Robbie (Abhishek Bachchan). Will Rumi and Vicky be able to move on with life, or will Robbie sacrifice his love and affection for Rumi?
Opinion = After NO SMOKING, I am again disappointed by Director Anurag Kashyap. The movie offers nothing, which we haven’t seen multiple times in the past. The plot is highly predictable, which lost my interest within just 30 mins of the beginning. I was just bearing the film till the end, for reviewing it. A simple plot is been made highly complex, and you, as an audience, feel that, what the hell is happening on screen. At places, the movie reminded me of another pathetic movie DEAR ZINDAGI (SRK and Alia Bhatt starrer). The movie tries to showcase the complexities and relationship issues between the young generation today, without any novelty attached to it. The behavior of the lead characters is so kiddish, that it will give you a cringe – worthy effect! Please visit your relatives and friends for Ganpati Darshan, instead of bearing this torture!
Performances = The movie is a comeback project for actor Abhishek Bachchan. Believe me, only his performance is praise – worthy in the movie. Actor Vicky Kaushal is yet to impress me with his performance after MASAAN. His performance is the biggest torture in this movie. He is trying to be the next serial – kisser of Bollywood, instead of focusing on improving his acting capabilities. Actress Tapsee Pannu is doing the same kind of Haryanvi – Jatni type of roles, since ages. The supporting cast had nothing productive at their disposal.
Director & Other Technical Aspects = I am not able to fathom that a potent director like Anurag Kashyap can make such kind of a movie. Why did he do it, he knows it better. The movie has nothing good to boast about. It is just bearable in parts. The Songs and the Background Score are also not praise worthy!
