Review Rowdy -TweetPlot = My review for this movie will be completely in GULLY BOY ishtyle! Bole Toh, apun ka review ekdum chhapri bhaasha mein hoingaa. To ye picture apne 2 bantaai NAEZY aur DIVINE ki jindagi par banaayeli hai. Yahaan apna bhidu Muraad (Ranveer […]

Review Rowdy -TweetPlot = Ahaana (Nargis Fakhri), a modern independent girl, decides to go on a romantic trip with her fiancée Karan Ajmera (Sachin Joshi), at his summer house, at a far away secluded place. Their romantic date becomes a nightmare, when they start witnessing […]
Plot = Balbir Chaudhary (Anil Kapoor), a rich businessman of Moga (Punjab), decides to marry his daughter Sweety Chaudhary (Sonam Kapoor) with Sahil Mirza (Rajkummar Rao).
Balbir’s life gets tobsy – turvy when he finds out that Sweety is homosexual.
The movie then becomes a representation of the prejudices associated with this issue!
Opinion = There is a sequence in the movie where Sahil, who plays the role of a struggling play writer, is sitting in front of a policeman who informs him that he had seen a movie written by Sahil, which was so boring that he fell asleep after watching just the second scene of the movie, and woke up directly during the end credits were rolling.
My feedback about this movie is in line with the on – screen police officer.
This is not a movie but an assault on your mental well being, its not a movie but a waste of your time and money, its not a movie, but a culmination of clichés and boredom, its not a movie, but a mere fulfillment of Mr. Anil Kapoor’s dream of playing the role of a father of Sonam, on screen as well.
This one will always be counted and remembered as one of the worst movies produced in the history of Indian Cinema.
The entire movie is filled with kindergarten humor, overtly excited and over – expressive Punjabi characters, bhaashanbaazi on homosexuality and pathetic acting by all the characters.
Neither the first half, nor the second one, holds anything in store for you, which is praise – worthy.
A serious issue like HOMOSEXUALITY is been mocked and belittled in this movie, without giving any thought on it.
In short, ISS LADKI KO DEKHA TO MIGRAINE LAGA !!!
Performances = The best example of NEPOTISM in Bollywood, is SONAM KAPOOR.
Iss aurat mein 1 paise ka bhi talent nahin hai, phir bhi isko filmein mil rahi hain.
Sonam, if you are reading my review, then I humbly request you to enjoy your married life, have babies and please save the mankind by not appearing on screen again
I am not able to understand that, why such a seasoned and accomplished actor like Anil Kapoor is doing pathetic movies like MUBAARAKAN, RACE 3, FANNEY KHAN and THIS SHIT, since last couple of years. Its high time that he start choosing scripts with due diligence, for regaining his respect between his fans.
I think Rajkummar Rao must ponder that why did he signed this movie, at the first place.
The most pathetic and unbearable performance was of Juhi Chawla.
Potent actors like Brijendra Kala and Seema Pahwa were completely wasted in this movie.
Direction & Other Technical Aspects = It’s the debut project of Director Shelly Chopra Dhar and I pray to GOD that it should be her last project as well.
If Shelly herself liked what she made for us, then I also pray to GOD that she gets a death with highest suffering and pain.
People like Shelly bring SHAME to our country, by releasing their SHIT on global pedestal.
The songs of the movie are just average, but the Cinematography is good.
Rowdy Rating = 0 / 5 .
Review Rowdy -TweetPlot = The movie is an official biopic of one of the most controversial and revered politicians of our country, Shiv Sena Supremo – Shri Balasaheb Thackeray. The audience will get sensitized with the circumstances, which forced Balasaheb to leave his job and […]
Review Rowdy -TweetPlot = The movie is basically a cinematic representation of the “Wikipedia Page” based on Manikarnika Tambe a.k.a Rani Lakshmibai (played by Kangana Ranaut), which majorly focuses on her rise as a warrior queen of her empire, till her final defeat in the […]
Plot = Set in the late 90’s, the movie tries to expose the operations of the admission mafia, actively working in different parts of our nation.
Here, Satyendra (Ammar Taalwala) is a hard working and bright student, preparing for his engineering entrance exams. He gets lured by the king of admission mafia Rakesh Singh a.k.a. Rocky (Emraan Hashmi), for writing exams in place of undeserving students, for monetary benefits.
Will Satyendra be able to blow a whistle against the fraud committed by Rocky, or will he surrender himself to the delusional world of corruption and admission?
Opinion = “Akalamand to tum ho hi, Nakalmand ban sakte ho ya nahin”, this dialogue mouthed by Rocky, for luring Satyendra into the world of admission mafia, forms the circumference of the entire plot.
But unfortunately, movie naa hi Akalmandon ko pasand aayegi, naa hi Nakalmandon ko!
This movie is a classic example of a Potent Plot getting ruined by Poor Execution. The first 10 minutes of the movie, is brilliantly executed. It made me happy that an actor like Emraan Hashmi (who is never counted among the A Listers) chose such a different subject, as a maiden project of his own production house.
But, as there is a saying that all that SHINES is not GOLD. The movie shined for the first 10 minutes like GOLD and quickly became COAL, losing all its beauty.
After 10 minutes, the movie nosedives into the pool of boredom.
Anything happens anytime and at any place. The screenplay is so pathetic and non – linear, that it starts testing your patience to the highest levels.
Also, the presence of unnecessary songs and the love angle of Rocky and Nupur (Shreya Dhanwantary, playing the role of Satyendra’s Sister) make matters even worse for the audience.
The makers had the opportunity to expose the nexus of admission mafia in great depth, but they just brushed upon the issue, for attracting eye balls.
There is no reason for you for buying the “admission ticket” of any multiplex, for watching this flick.
Performances = The movie completely belongs to its protagonist Rocky, played by Emraan Hashmi. His performance is the only praise – worthy aspect of this movie. He looks confident and well prepared on screen.
I believe he chose this subject for refraining himself from the serial – kisser tag, but, Emraan needs to understand that Great Ideas must be backed by Great Execution.
Actress Shreya Dhanwanthary was just the eye candy of the movie. Nothing praise – worthy can be stated for her meatless performance.
Actor Ammar Taalwala will irritate you with his weird voice and dialogue – delivery.
The supporting cast was just okay.
Direction & Other Technical Aspects = Director Soumik Sen was previously associated with projects like GULAAB GANG, HUM TUM AUR GHOST, ANTHONY KAUN HAI, etc. serving in various capacities.
Here also, his direction can only be classified as Grade B.
I am not able to understand how he himself manages to watch his shitty craft?
The Background Score of the movie is good, along with the Production Design and Cinematography.
The songs are unnecessary and forgettable.
Rowdy Rating = 2 / 5
Review Rowdy -TweetPlot = The movie is a culmination of events that led to the execution of a Surgical Strike at the “Pak Occupied Kashmir” on September 29, 2016. Opinion = I had no expectations from this movie, as , after watching its trailer, I […]
Review Rowdy -TweetPlot = The movie is a cinematic representation of the book written by Mr. Sanjay Baru (Media Advisor & Strategist of our former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh), in the same name, which traces the entire journey of Dr. Singh at the PMO. […]
Plot = A badass and corrupt cop Sangram Bhalerao a.k.a. SIMMBA (Ranveer Singh), gets posted at Miramar Police Station (Goa) and befriends the local goon Durva Ranade (Sonu Sood).
He acquits Durva from all the criminal charges, posted against him by the local residents, in exchange of Money. Sangram’s life gets tobsy-turvy when he is bound to lock thorns with Durva, for a heinous crime committed by Durva’s siblings.
So, will SIMMBA acquit the culprits, in the same way as he acquits their brother Durva, or will his conscience force him to rectify the error?
Opinion = So finally, Rohit Shetty has avenged the unfortunate death of NIRBHAYA, by making a khichadi of DABANGG & SINGHAM, along with promoting his next project in the pipeline, as well. The movie highlights the issues related to sexual assault and rape of women, which are growing at a phenomenal rate in our country.
Concept Wise, it’s a noble idea, but, Execution Wise, it’s a typical masala movie, rohit shetty shtyle!
The movie is completely PAISA WASOOL, if nothing else.
It will satisfy your urge of watching an entertaining flick and whatever review I publish, it will have minimal impact on Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh fans. They will watch it anyways.
The first half is quirky, slick, entertaining and engaging, all at the same time.
Whereas, the second half is verbose and philosophical.
If the makers would have worked a little hard to maintain the novelty of the second half, as well, it would have impacted my rating on this movie, in a positive way.
Nonetheless, there is something in the movie, for everybody, which makes it a complete family entertainer.
Performances = I cannot imagine any other actor playing the character of Sangram Bhalerao (SIMMBA) better than Ranveer Singh. It’s a role, crafted specially to suit his on screen personality. Ranveer is an adroit in carrying roles, which requires high amount of energy and innate masti. He is corrupt, laundiyabaaz, family man, gunda, everything, in equal proportion. The movie completely relies on and belongs to him.
Sara Ali Khan looks promising and suits the role perfect to the T.
Sonu Sood has done the same thing, which he is been doing since the release of DABANGG.
Off late, Bollywood has started disrespecting the talent and potential of an actor like Ashutosh Rana (Head Constable Mohile), by giving him trivial roles and monotonous character graphs.
The supporting cast was average in their performances.
The cameo of Ajay Devgn & Akshay Kumar is refreshing.
Direction & Other Technical Aspects = Director Rohit Shetty is well aware with the nerves and even the blood group of his audience. He gives them, what they exactly want.
You will always find decent comic punches, superhit soundtrack, citi bajaao action and dialoguebaazi, everything, in every film, helmed by Rohit Shetty.
Here also, he has continued the trajectory.
The cinematography and production design are lavish and stylish.
Can’t comment anything on the songs in this movie, because 2 of them, are just the remake of the old classics. And the cameo of all the lead actors of GOLMAAL in AANKH MAARE, was anyways useless.
Rowdy Rating = 3.5 / 5
